on the way
TLS protects a connection. Our website and authenticated mail connections require it. Between providers, protection depends on what the receiving server supports. Transport encryption is not end-to-end encryption.
private email doesn’t have to be ugly.
create account ↗a private inbox deserves an honest explanation. encryption is useful, but the word alone doesn’t tell you who can read your mail.

Our mail volumes and backups are encrypted. The running Vael server can decrypt stored mail, and its operator can access it. That protects stored data; it does not make us a zero-access provider.
OpenPGP can encrypt content between compatible users. Some providers also offer encrypted internal conversations or special recipient flows. Ordinary external email does not inherit those guarantees, and routing metadata still matters.
you rely on us to operate Vael carefully and keep our word. we block remote images by default, avoid advertising trackers, and give you controls for access, export and deletion. we want privacy to be clear — and your inbox to look good, too.
