As of the publication date, Vael's operator attests:

- We have not received a secret legal demand for user data, or a gagged
demand that prevents us from disclosing its existence.
- We have not been compelled to install a backdoor or interception
  capability in Vael's service.
- Vael's systems have not been seized or placed under government control.

This statement covers Vael and is based on the operator's knowledge at
this date. It does not promise that future demands cannot occur. Our
servers can access ordinary stored email, as our privacy policy explains.

A signature proves integrity and key ownership, not the truth of every
claim. Treat this statement as expired after its renewal date. We require
fresh operator review before publication; renewal is never assumed.

publication history

A missing page, expired statement or failed signature is a reason to investigate. Publishing failures and outages can also happen; absence alone is not proof of compromise. Statements are renewed only after a fresh operator review.
